Bridal Beauty Tips to Prep for the Big Day

Looking flawless and swooning in perfection is every bride’s dream on their wedding day. And we are sure that you are no exception too. That’s why bridal beauty tips can go a long way.

After choosing your ideal wedding gown, buying your gorgeous wedding heels, and finding your matching wedding accessories…what’s next?

Your face, of course!

Most brides engage a make-up artist for their wedding day. However, make-up can only do so much. The rest is really up to you. What we mean is that there are tips for brides to look flawless and radiant on their wedding day and here goes…!

Bridal Beauty Tips #1: Keep Yourself Well-hydrated

Having sufficient intake of water prior to your wedding day and we don’t mean one day before. Magic does not work this way. In fact, as part of a healthy lifestyle and diet, the recommended daily intake of water is 2.5 to 3 litres. Forget about your buddies (a.k.a sweet and carbonated drinks), and be best friends with pure plain water!

Here on our sunny island, the most common skin type is combination skin. This means that the skin has both oily and dry properties, which are most probably due to our erratic weather. Hydrating yourself well helps to reduce the dryness in your skin. Hence, you can bid dry flaky skin goodbye. With that, you don’t have to look unsightly with cakey skin when you have your bridal make-up on your wedding day!

Bridal Beauty Tips #2: Avoid Facial Sessions Too Near To Your Wedding Day

Facials are deemed to be important and essential to some ladies and incorporated as part of their beauty care regime. However, we would advise against having facials done too near to your wedding day. A cooling down period of five days to one week period would be good for your skin to calm down from all the redness and sensitivity if any.

If you have sensitive skin, we advise that you avoid trying out new facial products as well or new facial treatments. You know, just to be safe, in case your skin has an adverse reaction to them. If that is the case, it may even be difficult to cover up those problematic areas with make-up. And piling on layers of make-up after make-up does not work well either.

For facial treatments, the more advisable ones are hydrating and brightening types. If possible, anything involving lasers is a big no-no. You don’t want to be seen with the marks on your wedding day, right?

Bridal Beauty Tips #3: Diet and Exercise

Exercising is yet another common method to boost your skin’s health and your own. Poor diet and lack of exercise can result in pale skin lacking in luster. There is no radiance coming from within because there is insufficient blood circulation and nutrients. A pasty bride won’t look good in a wedding gown!

Incorporating a variety of fruits and vegetables help your skin receive the nutrients they need to renew and repair itself. Perhaps supplements for skin may come in handy too but going au naturel should always be the way to go. The fruits that supposedly have great properties to enhance the radiance game are green apples, papayas, blueberries, kiwis, watermelon, oranges, and avocados!

Bridal Beauty Tips #4: Have Adequate Rest

Beauty sleep – need we say more?

Having sufficient rest allows your body and mind to rest and take a break from all the stress that stemmed from wedding preparations. This is beneficial to both your physical and mental health, which can have an impact on your skin. To repair and renew, your skin carries out that regeneration process when you are asleep.

You should plan to sleep at least 7 to 8 hours a day for at least one month prior to your wedding. Sleeping for 4 to 5 hours continuously for a prolonged period of time and then trying to sleep 7 to 8 hours one to two days before your wedding day will most probably not guarantee you flawless and radiant skin. Moreover, you would be too nervous and excited just before your wedding day. So, compensate for the loss of sleep by hitting the sack earlier!

Sufficient rest prevents you from piling up on your concealer to hide your dark rings and you would be livelier and less moody on your wedding day too!

Bridal Beauty Tips #5: Do Some Self-research

While you may most probably have your trusty make-up artist with you, if there are certain bridal make-up looks you desire, it would be good for you to come prepared with samples. These samples will act as easy references and guidelines for your make-up artist.

Professional and experienced make-up artists would then be able to better advise if the make-up suits you according to your face shape and features. They may even modify the look a little to better complement your facial features!

All brides should look at their prettiest in their wedding gown for their grand celebration. With the top 5 tips to look flawless and radiant, we are sure you would be guaranteed compliments on your wedding day!
