Wedding affairs are usually held at hotels, which isn’t really a bad thing. After all, the hotels here in Singapore have very grand settings most of the time!
But have you ever thought of holding your wedding at…a restaurant? Now, you must be wondering if this is just a gimmick. But, we do know that if you close this window, you’ll regret not giving Halia a chance.
The word “Halia” actually means ginger in Malay, which is why you can taste a hint of ginger in most of their mouth watering dishes and refreshing beverage
Halia already has a recognised reputation over at Botanical Gardens, with its alfresco setting and austere elements. Imagine enjoying your meal while feasting your eyes on the lush greenery and flowers of different shades. Plus, it is an ideal place to take your pictures (and selfies. Yes I am talking to you, the one who loves the front camera).
Also, Halia just opened its outlet at Raffles Hotel (yays for those who prefer the central district), which is located at the heart of the city. If you are in love with the rustic concept but not that in love with the flora and fauna, Halia at Raffles Hotel is the right venue to consider!
Are you ready to discover how awesome Halia is? Read on but don’t be surprised when you find yourself reaching for the phone.
#1 Communal Feasting
In most Asian cultures, it is a common practice to decorate the dinner table with many scrumptious dishes that possess the power to keep your tastebuds yearning for more.
Warning: You might find youself salivating when you google ‘Halia’. Get ready your hankies!
And that’s what Halia pledge itself by. No matter how filled and satisfied you are, you’ll find your hands automatically reaching out for second helpings. Good food always has this control over our body, don’t they?
On top of that, with the intimate setting, you’ll find yourself immersed in merry conversations. Your wedding will be one that is filled with warm laughter and not the awkwardness that zaps the energy out of you as quick as a coyote.
Here’s their menu that will guarantee to pull you off your chairs and book a table now. Do note that the prices and menu are subject to change!
#2 Witness a bathtub of Hendrick’s Gin!
Say what? You must be wondering if you’re reading things correctly or your command of English diminished over the years?
Bathtubs are created to take…baths right?
Well at Halia, bathtubs are specially used to serve Hendrick’s Gin! When you turn on the tap, you won’t see clear (and may we add, boring) water flowing out. Instead, you’ll see clear liquid flowing out that smells nothing but heavenly. This concoction is truly out of this world, combining unorthodox botanical elements such as rose petals and cucumber. Sounds enticing isn’t it?
Even just by looking at images online, you are probably sold by the uniqueness of Halia. You might even wish you have such a bathtub at home, when you can relax and have a pick-me-up at any time, especially after a exhausting day at work (which is almost every day) #firstworldproblems.
Well of course, that’s a tad too tough to achieve. But hey, you can enjoy that at Halia! Time to wash your throats with that smooth liquid. You’re going to need it when your wedding gets hectic!
